Screening night: 200 creators, one room, eleven films

We took over a cinema in east London for one night and filled it with the people who made the work on screen. Eleven films, none longer than twelve minutes, all finished in the last six months.

The rule we set for the programme was simple: every film had to be something the maker could not have finished two years ago. Some of that was budget, some of it was tooling, most of it was both.

What the room told us

The conversation afterwards was not about models or pipelines. It was about scripts, casting, and how to hold an audience for the first ninety seconds. The craft questions have not changed. What changed is who gets to ask them.

The craft questions have not changed. Who gets to ask them has.

We are running the next one in the autumn, and opening a submissions window before then. Members hear first.
